McCulla Grant

Biography
McCulla joined us in 2010 after taking extensive piano, filddle, and guitar lessons. He has taken lessons in the city, but was tired of the weekly commute.
Fortunately, we were able to provide McCulla with lessons that fit well with his interests. His first year focused on heavier metal songs and 'drop-d', 'drop-c' tunings.
Since then, he has added dimension to his abilities, and we have been learning folk guitar picking, starting with "Classical Gas." Stay tuned as we will be uploading some of McCulla's work in the future.
There are no records of lessons in the schedule for McCulla. There may have been a cancellation after signing up, or more likely, lessons occured before the online calendar system. Apparently they took, or planned to take electric guitar, guitar finger-picking and violin.
A review:
"What song do you want to learn to play now?" is something Jason said a lot over the course of my guitar lessons with him, and really sets him apart from other teachers I had. Before Jason, my previous attempts at learning instruments were bogged down with theory, having to learn "classic" songs that didn't interest me, and always ended with me losing interest. Jason let me pick the songs I wanted to learn and then would teach me the required chords and techniques as they came up. This way nothing felt forced and I was always working towards something I was actually interested in. Today, I have the ability to teach myself any song I want thanks to him. He's very talented and a great teacher!
