Amaya Rymerson

Past Notes

February 14th, 2023

Amaya and Lindsay weren't able to come.

January 31st, 2023

Lindsay is sick this evening.

January 17th, 2023

I missed Amaya tonight. Hope everyone's healthy!

January 3rd, 2023
2023-01-03 01:00:00 Dove Cameron, Boyfriend

We did vocal warm ups at the start again, and then some interval training for 2nds, fourths, and fifths.

2nds: Happy Birthday
4ths: Here Comes the Bride
5ths: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

We then went over Dandelions together for a while. Amaya is still pulling her voice into her throat, and we need to get her projecting it out of her mouth... making the sound "shallow" instead of "deep."

This is the hardest thing to get used to, so practising with feedback from mom or dad would really help, or recording herself.

We then changed songs to "Dove Cameron, Boyfriend:"

December 20th, 2022

Abaya is sick tonight.

December 6th, 2022

We went over the scales first and then returned to Dandelions.

We focused more on opening upthe back of the throat, and not sucking the sound into her head, but letting it get out... it's tempting to let the resonance of the bones in the skull to ring, but it will sound better if she gets it out of her mouth, and aims at something far away when she projects her voice.

We worked on the scales first and then the Ruth B song, Dandelions:

Amaya needs to open up her voice more, not try to copy Ruth B, but let her own voice come through. Volume is key right now to get her own sound and voice strong.

November 8th, 2022

We did 15 minutes of warm up and scales. Then we moved to the song Dandelions. I recorded Amaya so she could hear herself. Her pitch is really good, but her sound is affected, so we will need to work on getting her to sound like Amaya. :) Drop the jaw, open up the airway, project your natural voice.

Don't forget to work on abdomen exercises (like with a book on your tummy).

SONGLIST:
This Is What Heartbreak Feels Like
Golden Hour
Moon and Back
Ken and Barbie?
Boyfriend
10 Things I Hate About You
Take A Hint
He Likes Boys

October 25th, 2022

Hi Lindsay, did you and Amaya forget tonight?

October 11th, 2022

We started off with some singing exercises.
I'd like Amaya to make a list of songs she'd like to work on.

I would like her to practice building her diaphragm muscle by laying on her back and putting a big book on her tummy. Lift the book up with your tummy muscles, and do that every day for a lot of repetitions.

Also sing Eee, Ahh, Iihhh, and Oooo going up and down like we did in the lesson.

Here's the Ruth B song we worked on today, Dandelions:
