Dave Mundle
Past Notes
September 16th, 2019
Dave knew a Dsus24/F# this week from a YouTube video! He's been learning "Horse with No Name"
We talked about keys, sharps and flats, scales, raising and lowering a key, capos (the metal thing for changing the length of the fretboard on a guitar's neck).
We wrote out the three minor and three major chords for the key of G and the key of A.
I wrote out chord diagrams for all the chords. I suggested he work on just the key of G chords for now, until he feels comfortable with them, and then we can start learning a song in the key of G.
He suggested "Frozen Ghost's Dream Come True" as one to shoot for in the future. It might be a little hard for the beginning.

Good lesson, Dave - we went through the names of the parts of the guitar; body, neck, head, machine heads, nut, frets, bridge, then we learned G, Em, Am, and C.
We did two strumming patterns, down, down, downup down, and downup down downup down.
Work on switching between the chords so you can move smoothly between them, and think of two or three songs you'd like to learn for the campfire!
