Margi brought in a book with Desperado in it, by the Eagles.

We talked through some theory to help get through the confusing parts... for example, what chord to play in major and minor scales.

You can do it- ignore the sevenths for now, and focus on just playing the correct chords for major and minor.

December 4th, 2017

This was Margi's first week.

We went through her books together, and selected a Christmas Carol from a book she did as a child.

I wrote out the chords for her, and talked about the system of chording which attempts to explain them in terms of the context in which they are played: the key signature.

Because this song is in G, most of the chords will conform to that: G, Am, Bm, C, D, Em, F#dim.

I tried to unsuccessfully help figure out which notes are in elusive chords, by thinking of them in their natural state, before the accidental is applied. So, B in the key of G will always be a B minor, and have a b,d, and f# in it... but since this is a B major, it should be relatively simple to "majorize" the chord by raising the middle note of the first triad.

I apologize for going quickly, but you pick stuff up so fast, that I couldn't help myself!

A good next step would be to work on playing the left hand with the correct finger, not always the pinky.
