We continued working on Mary Had a Little Lamb, and tried to do a chord with the left hand.

Harlee was back this week.
We reviewed what we did two weeks ago, and I wrote out the notes for the piano keyboard on her book, as well as the song Mary Had a Little Lamb.
I asked her to work on playing it with one hand.
We also learned the C chord, which we'll use to play this song with both hands.

We spent the first 20 minutes or so working on guitar, by Harlee is really having trouble, and it's discouraging to her.
It's my recommendation that we don't continue with guitar, but either move to ukulele or piano.
Uke is good for a starting point for little fingers if you want to end up on guitar. Piano is a good basis for any instrument.

Harlee was a little distracted tonight, but better than other times. We worked on the chords she's been learning, and added two Christmas songs.
She said again tonight that she'd rather learn piano; I said it had to come from her mom, that it wasn't up to her.

It was a challenge getting Harlee to stay focused! She's the queen of distraction, lol! She felt pretty frustrated, I think, with playing the guitar chords. I didn't let her get us off topic, though, and we stayed at it for nearly the whole time.
She should spend a few minutes every day working on these chords so she can improve... it will take regular practice for her to come to a place where she's enjoying it.

Harlee was a tad distracted tonight, and I was a firm with her to stay focused, and work on the guitar.
She felt frustrated that it wasn't coming easily to her on the first tries. I tried to remind her that it would take practice and work to get these chords.
After 25 minutes, she thought she'd rather try something easier, like the piano, so we spent a few minutes doing a quick piano acquaintance lesson.
