Policies
Practicing
There is an expectation that the student will be prepared for his/her lesson each week. If there hasn't been significant improvement from one week to the next, or if the material doesn't seem to be prepared enough for the lesson, then the lesson time will be used for practicing.
Payment
Missed Lesson
There is an expectation to pay for missed lessons. If you know you'll be away for a period of time, please make a special arrangement with me at least two weeks ahead of time.
E-Transfer
E-transfers have made life easier for many of us, and I welcome them as a form of payment. Sometimes it's hard to remember to make payments, so I'd appreciate monthly, rather than weekly payments please.
Post Dated Cheques
If you prefer paying with cheque, then at the beginning of the year, please remit 10 post dated cheques, made out for the cost of lessons for each month.
- Post dated cheques are to be made payable to Jason Silver
- They are to always be dated for the first of each month, not the date of the first lesson
- Payment is due at the start of each month, not the end.
- If you only plan to take lessons for a short time, then inform me when you start and we can arrange an alternate payment plan
Cash Instead
Cash is an acceptable payment, however I ask for the full month's amount at the first lesson. This is due at the first lesson of each month. Students are expected to pay for missed lessons.
Cancellation Policy
Should the student decide to stop taking lessons, I ask for one month's advance notice. The student can opt out of lessons immediately, but payment is required until the end of the month's notice.
Reschedule Policy
The following policy applies to any missed or rescheduled lesson:
- students are always responsible for payment of missed lessons
- I don't make any other spots available for missed lessons
- However, you may trade with another student but you must arrange the trade, and email me to let me know - I have a calendar of students which I can share with you
Bounced Cheques
There is a $30 dollar charge for bounced cheques.
